Prewedding Shoot in Switzerland
In February, I had the pleasure to photograph a beautiful bride-to-be from Brazil with her fiancé. She first contacted me back in October 2021 as she wasn’t in Zurich yet. We planned the pre-wedding shoot in Switzerland on the dates that she would be in Zurich in February. We discussed the details and she told me that she mainly wanted prewedding pictures with the Alps in the background. I then planned out an itinerary for her where we could shoot at 3 beautiful locations near Zurich within a day. This was our pre-wedding shoot itinerary.
Zurich -> Blausee -> Kandersteg -> Engstligen Falls -> Zurich
I actually planned for one more location but since my couple had to return the rental car early in Zurich we had to leave earlier. We started driving from Zurich to Blausee at 7 am, so makeup started at 530am!
Location 1: Blausee
Tips: You can park there really easily at the car park and the lake is right next to it! It also has a restaurant and a cafe if you are looking for a location with a toilet/meal break!
Location 2: Kandersteg (Somewhere)
Tips: We just drove around and parked at the side of a road because we saw this plain open area with the majestic Alps behind! In fact, this was my Airin’s favourite location because this was exactly what she envisioned - prewedding pictures in Switzerland with the Alps as the background!
Location 3: Engstligen Falls
Tips: At Engstligen falls, you will reach the waterfall with a 15 minutes easy walk. There is quite a bit of a slope upwards towards the end but nothing unsurmountable. The tricky thing about shooting in winter is that the alps are gorgeous in Switzerland but the waterfalls are frozen. I would say that this location would be better to photograph in summer, so if you’re planning a prewedding shoot in summer in Switzerland, you should definitely head down here!
During the photoshoot, Airin kept telling me how this was her childhood dream and she would often daydream about her prewedding shoot and how it should turn out. It is such a wonderful feeling to be able to help her fulfil this dream and work together with her to create her vision!
